Today’s words to ponder come from David Graeber, American anthropologist and anarchist social and political activist. He died in 2020.
“At a moment when the capitalists’ collective refusal to even consider rethinking any of their basic assumption about the world might well mean not just the death of capitalism, but of almost everything else, our only real choice is to do it ourselves—to begin to create a new language and new common sense about what people basically are and what it is reasonable for them to expect from the world, and from each other.”

Posted at 02:04h, 26 MayI have been listening to “The Dawn of Everything” (still not loving audiobooks) and have enjoyed it thus far. This quote is so resonant with social therapeutics and many things on my mind lately: “…to begin to create a new language and new common sense about what people basically are and what it is reasonable for them to expect from the world, and from each other.” Thanks for posting.

Posted at 14:17h, 25 MayEcho Warren’s sentiments. I found The Dawn of Everything, co-written with a British anarchist David Wengrow, utterly fascinating and fun. Loaded with anarchist humor, it discusses possible narratives and futures off of recent developments in archeological research. A big influence on how I see the world at the moment
Thanks, Lois!
