It’s my intention to suggest elsewhere that the oppression of the child is the plan of political extremism, which also wars against God, or the idea of God. Children have traits that are evidence of God: beauty, love, intelligence, etc. When his disciples were arguing about which among them was the greatest of them, Jesus of Nazareth responded by using the child as an example. He elevated the child from the “least” to the “greatest.” (Luke 9:48) The disciples were silenced. The enemies of God hate that, so, malign children to get at God.
