A Symposium and Workshop Like No Other—Discover Development NYC

A Symposium and Workshop Like No Other—Discover Development NYC

develop nyc 31

I spent the weekend with nine terrific people discovering and creating development.  The occasion was the spring Discover Development-NYC, a twice-a-year three day adventure that I have the privilege of leading thanks to the East Side Institute. People come together and immerse themselves in developmental activities of the Institute, the Social Therapy Group, the All Stars Project, Perfomance of a Lifetime—AND the culture-creating energy of New York City’s streets, parks and subways.

This group included psychology graduate students from Calgary (Canada), Georgia and NYC; learning and professional development professionals from an interamerican bank in Washington, DC; a program manager for a consulting firm in NYC; and a history professor from North Carolina. They—and we (incuding asistant tour guide Jan Wootten and producer Melissa Meyer)—clicked! We continuosly played with ideas, emotions, scripts, texts, sounds and city scenes, creating  environments for growth and discovery.

Here’s some photos…

This was a great opportunity for that lucky group. They seem to have made the most of it.
